Smedjebacken Municipality is now seeking an experienced economist for part-time work (20–30%) who wants to become an important part of the finance function. The assignment is long-term and requires physical presence on-site about one day a week.

About the role

This is a role for you who enjoys combining operational financial work with a supportive responsibility in the team. You will work with:

• Ongoing accounting
• VAT reporting within municipal operations
• Invoice management and supplier contacts
• Cash management
• Administrative support within the financial area

The need has arisen from a high workload, and the goal is to create a sustainable and long-term solution that relieves the team and frees up time for more qualified tasks. There is an opportunity to grow with the role over time.

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience in financial work within municipal operations
• Is confident in VAT reporting and understands the specific regulations that apply to the public sector
• Works in a structured, independent manner with high accuracy
• Is unpretentious and enjoys supporting colleagues
• Can be on-site in Smedjebacken about one day per week

To quickly get into the work, experience from a municipality or similar organization is an important prerequisite.

About the assignment

The position comprises about 20–30%, equivalent to one to two days per week. Physical presence on-site is a central part of the assignment, although some flexibility can be discussed.
